50 TO WATCH
"California has already contributed to the history of art in America but she is destined to add far more brilliant pages, not in individual effort, but in the great number of artist who will take part in making here a culture which is not yet imagined.” - Maurice Braun, notable San Diego Painter (1928)
Continuing the region’s legacy of celebrating San Diego’s vibrant arts community, The Studio Door will showcase the region’s visual artists through local exhibition and with a national publication under the 50 TO WATCH banner. This year’s event is a discreet launch for a larger 2016 program, which will eventually continue as a biennial project to promote San Diego’s contemporary artists on a national level.
