TAROT: The Fool’s Journey Through Life

Exhibition Dates:  August 3 – 26, 2018

  • Reception: August 4, 2018 •  6 – 9 PM

Artwork inspired by Tarot, Oracle and Divination decks, even Lotería cards.

The fool’s journey is a metaphor for the journey through life that is explored in the imagery of the Tarot. Each card, or in this case artwork, stands for an experience that a person must go through to realize the wholeness of life.  The artwork in this exhibition embraces the artist’s view of individuality, personal growth and enlightenment using the lens of mysticism.

Fifty-five works from artists from thirteen states will be featured within the exhibition that will be presented in two parts.  Thirty-five works will be exhibited in the The Studio Door gallery with additional works available online.

“A group of deeply talented artists comes together in this exhibition, presenting their vision of the world, as they see it in the cards. Their work represents much that is beautiful but also much that is wise,” said exhibition juror Christopher Butler. Living in the United Kingdom, Butler is a multiply published author and illustrator whose works include The Son Tarot: Mysticism, Meditation and Divination for Gay Men(Schiffer Books. 2012), andThe Healing Light Tarot (Lo Scarabeo. 2017). He is also the illustrator for Kay Stopforth’s bestselling Quantum Tarot 2.0 (Lo Scarabeo. 2010).
