Back in action.

Here at The Studio Door, we’re committed to showcasing visual arts. Our calling is to create opportunities for San Diego’s dedicated artists as well as bring much needed attention to the region’s place in the larger arts community.

With the opening of our new storefront in Hillcrest, we bring you a curated selection of new programming to engage in the arts.  Look for the launch of these programs over the course of the Spring of 2019.

Uptown After Hours – This evening series gives you access to the gallery where you will experience special musical performances, hands-on art demonstrations and insightful talks by the regions emerging artists. Signature drinks and artisanal appetizers round out the exceptional night.

Inside the Artist Studio Tours – Get some culture and have some fun. Starting with coffee and muffins at The Studio Door, you will set off on a one-day tour of San Diego’s art spaces, galleries and exhibitions. Every tour is a one-of-a-kind experience with artists and curators to help you explore our contemporary arts scene.

Young Arts Patrons Ice Cream Social – The Studio Door is mentoring under 40 arts patrons and philanthropists who are interested in becoming informed donors and have a desire to forge lasting relationships with next generation artists. Young Arts Patrons collectively decide how to discover, support and collect emerging artists before they break.

Creative InnerView – Art Guide San Diego, Dusty Dawn Productions and The Studio Door are launching a season of arts interviews. The series will launch in February with Joi Cole, Sam Lopez, Isaac “Optimus Volts” Coronado, Melissa Walter and Randall Christopher. Planned segments will showcase visual artists working in different media, delve into the lives of working artists and check in with San Diego’s expanding arts scene.

Art Hillcrest – Artists, organizations and businesses in Hillcrest are celebrating the arts with a monthly announcement of visual arts activities in the neighborhood.   As the nights warm up in May 2019, look for the launch of a monthly art walk in Hillcrest that will wrap up in August with a special evening bring art on to the streets of Hillcrest.

You can also expect the return of our regular line up of quality programs:
