Alexander Arshansky
Alexander Arshansky paints with relentless momentum. His compositions are packed with shifting figures, symbols and fractured forms that continue revealing themselves over time. Faces emerge from landscapes. Animals dissolve into architecture. Entire narratives seem hidden beneath the surface waiting to be discovered. The work carries the energy of constant motion while remaining remarkably controlled.
Born in Moscow and now based in San Diego, Arshansky developed what he describes as “Biomorphic Cubism,” a visual language shaped by rounded geometry, mosaic-like construction and layered storytelling. His paintings reflect a mind that rarely slows down. Alongside his studio practice, he has worked for years as a Russian interpreter, often painting while absorbing the emotional intensity of conversations happening around him. That psychological charge enters the work directly. Each painting feels built from accumulated thought, observation and instinct rather than pure abstraction.
