Call for Mid-Career & Professional Artists

2026 Exhibition Opportunities at The Studio Door

The Studio Door invites mid-career and professional artists to submit work for consideration in upcoming juried exhibitions. We’re seeking artists with consistent quality, a cohesive body of work, and pieces that align with our patron profile while maintaining community-accessible pricing. Artists from across the west coast are encouraged to apply. Participation is by curatorial invitation following a competitive review; applicants must demonstrate a professional level of presentation and consistency.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis unless otherwise noted.

Exhibition Details

• Juried Process: All exhibitions are juried and curated by The Studio Door

• Exhibition Length: Approximately 6 weeks per show

• Number of Artists: Each exhibition includes a spotlight on 5 - 6 artists

• Commission Split: 50% artist / 50% gallery

• Pricing: This is not a white wall gallery. Community gallery pricing is essential

• Shipping & Delivery: Handled by the artist; all delivery costs are the artist’s responsibility

Artist Commitments

Selected artists must agree to:

• Social media engagement and email marketing to help promote the exhibition

• Provide a list of your planned 2026 Southern California exhibitions to avoid calendar conflicts

• Local artists: Required to attend the exhibition reception in person

• Out of town artists: Required to prepare Artist Talk video for YouTube Channel

Gallery Support & Professional Standards

The Studio Door’s regular prospectus applies, ensuring:

• On-site insurance for artworks

• Gallery security system

• Regular public hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 11 AM–6 PM

• Marketing through The Studio Door’s website, mailing list and social media channels

The Studio Door reserves the right to decline any work that does not meet gallery standards.

• Exhibition A: January 2 - February 13, 2026 Reception: January 31, 2026 • 6 - 9 PM

• Exhibition B: August 7 - September 18, 2026 Reception: August 29, 2026 • 6 - 9 PM

How to Apply

1. Prepare your portfolio: Include 5 - 10 images representing a consistent body of work (with titles, media, sizes, and prices).

2. Review your calendar to identify preferred exhibition series.

3. Send your proposal to patric@thestudiodoor.com with:

   • Artist statement & bio

   • URLs of online presence

   • Images & art specs including retail prices

   • Identify preferred exhibition dates

   • Your 2026 Southern California exhibition schedule

   • Any relevant exhibition history and recent marketing (past year)
