Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual and other related community artists (LGBTQIA+) are encouraged to present contemporary works that celebrate the unique sense of pride that this diverse community has. Max-Arthur Mantle
Max-Arthur Mantle: Fierce, Framed, and Unapologetic
Award-winning photographer and author Max-Arthur Mantle brings an unflinching gaze to the lived experiences of Black, Brown, queer, and Caribbean lives. For PROUD+, Mantle presents works that confront beauty, bias, and body politics with poetic realism. His intimate portraits offer layered truths. Sensual, defiant, and deeply human. Each image carries the quiet charge of a witness refusing to look away, asking viewers to see and be seen. -
Carole Kuck
Carole Kuck’s BOLD AND BRILLIANT: The Colors of LGBTQIA+ Pride is a striking installation uniting the color identities of 50 LGBTQIA+ flags, representing a wide spectrum of sexual orientations and gender identities displayed together for the first and only time. The buzz around the gallery has been electric, with patrons eager to take home part of what’s already being recognized as a landmark artwork. The Studio Door will offer extended hours on opening day so collectors have first opportunity to acquire these radiant pieces.

Words of Pride
Words of Pride, a monumental collaboration with the San Diego Mayor’s GLBTQ Historic Task Force, celebrates Hillcrest’s official recognition as an LGBTQ Cultural District. Featuring 30 local LGBTQ+ artists, the work honors the stories and voices of our community. Designed to travel, this powerful project is expected to be shown across San Diego County in the coming year. A fourth panel is now in development, with community support helping to fund materials and include even more voices in the growing tapestry. • Unveiling: July 12 Reception
